ASSOCIATION OF AGRICULTURE WORKERS:
All Pakistan Trade Union Congress has started organizing Agriculture workers in different part of the country, on yet another footings, talking and programming for their Health, education, trainings, and other civic concerns. For ending Child labour, and for a better role of women. Internal Migration is one key phenomenon with the rural and agricultural population, which was being attended by APTUC beside Cooperative inititive. The possibility of integration of Agricultural workers was possible only at the level of Development moves, and based on this concept. A number of such associations promoted by the APTUC are functioning in the province of Sindh and Punjab.
APTUC’s Federation for Agriculture Workers:
To consolidate its successes, to enhance the National voice and to secure International Patronage particularly with the International trade Federation of the World Confederation of Lab our FEEMTA , wih the support of All Pakistan Trade Union congress the constitutive congress of National Federation of of workers in Agriculture, Food and Allied workers was held on 13th January 2001 at Karachi. 28 Associations and unions from the Agriculture food and allied sector coming from different part of the country attended the Congress along with 16 other observer, and elected their set of officials , and decided for their policy and program of Action. The world Confederation of lab our greeted the new federation and expressed the hope that it help the process of consolidation of power in the Agriculture sector.
Type of Services being currently offered to Agricultural workers by APTUC:
The first phase of work of APTUC was that of working directly with the Grass root bodies of Agricultural workers, and activists. The news phase now is the evolution of a specialized body that is the Federation of Agricultural workers beside other trades.
The Services offered were involvement in Training programs, legal support services, Technical trainings, working as intermediataries in securing health care support, And rights education.
