PAPS aims to achieve the following objectives:
- To develop, implement AIDS Education and prevention programs in order to increase the level of awareness of individuals, groups and communities on HIV/AIDS; and to introduce activities and programs addressing specific areas including women issues , prisoners, sexually diverse groups , youth and safety in the health care environment;
- To formulate strategies to circumvent the cultural constraints in HIV interventions and to strengthen the process for human resource development;
- To develop and provide all segments of society with appropriate, accurate and non-judgmental information concerning the prevention of HIV infection through safe sex practices including condom use through leaflets , audio visual methods and other means;
- To provide advice and information as well as emotional and practice support to persons affected by HIV/AIDS and their families;
- To facilitate the conduct of relevant studies or researches and share findings with the concerned groups and communities;
- To Network with other organizations working in the field of HIV/AIDS and assist in the establishment of venues for sharing and exchange information as well as skills and resources in the local, national , regional and international levels;
- To help ensure the development of a comprehensive National AIDS control strategy that reflects the aspirations and needs of the people and is capable of meeting the challenges of the present time and are in line with the principles of International HIV prevention programs.
- To facilitate the development of a campaign strategy involving the media in order to provide accurate and appropriate information and help correct notions and misinformation’s regarding HIV/AIDS.
- To initiate and implement programs and activities in collaboration with other organizations at the local , regional and international levels;
- To explore and obtain resources, patronage, guidance, support , collaboration and financial assistance from relevant persons, groups, and organizations.
